Roy Vinyard

President and CEO – Asante

Roy Vinyard was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Asante Health System in June 1999. As Asante’s chief executive leader, Roy was responsible for all operations of the health system including strategic planning, directing operations, future growth, program development and philanthropy.

​

In his role, Mr. Vinyard worked closely with Asante’s governing board and senior executive team members to help fulfill Asante’s

Mission and Vision, and to ensure they were lived out daily by employees throughout the organization. Recently, through Roy’s work, the Vision evolved to further align Asante with the future health needs of the community.

​

Mr. Vinyard has more than 30 years of experience in health care administration, including Chief Administrative Officer of Hospitals and Clinics at Oregon Health
& Sciences University. He also held administrative positions at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City and Cox Health System in Springfield, Missouri.

​

Mr. Vinyard has served — and is still serving — on numerous professional boards and committees, including:

  • American Hospital Association State Delegate Regional Policy Board 9 (2004–2006)

  • American Hospital Association Health Care Systems Governing Council (2009–2011)

  • Asante Board of Directors (1999 to present)

  • Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems Board and Executive Committee (1999–2005 and 2009 to present, serving as chair in 2003)

  • Oregon Health Leadership Council (from inception to present)

  • Oregon Healthcare Enterprises/Apprise (2010 to present, chair)

  • People’s Bank of Commerce Board, Audit and Governance committees (2016 to present)

  • Propel Health Board, Governance and Executive committees (2016–2018)

 

Related civic activities include:

  • Boy Scouts of America – Crater Lake Council Executive Board
    (2003–2011, serving as president in 2007)

  • Hearts and Vines Foundation, Board of Trustees (2001–2006, serving as secretary in 2002, vice president in 2003 and president in 2004)

  • Medford Chamber of Commerce Board (2001–2007)
